What it does not do

  • Existing text in the original PDF is kept as-is. Leo adds a new layer on top rather than re-flowing the original paragraphs.
  • Scanned PDFs have no text layer. Run them through OCR first if you need selectable text.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to edit a PDF?
No. Upload a PDF and edit it straight away. An account is only needed when you want to download the finished file, keep it, or carry it into the rest of Leo.
Where is my file processed?
In your browser. The PDF is opened, rendered and edited on your own device. It is only sent to Leo when you choose to download or save the finished file, so that we can hand it to your new account.
How long do you keep my file?
A finished file waiting to be downloaded is held for up to 24 hours and then removed automatically. Once you save it to an account it stays until you delete it.
Can I edit the words that are already in the PDF?
Not in place. Leo adds text, shapes and images as a new layer over the page, and lets you reorder, rotate or remove pages. Re-flowing the original paragraphs of an existing PDF is not supported.
What does it cost?
A free Leo account includes credits that cover editing and downloading. This operation uses 2 credits.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, 25 MB per PDF. Larger documents are usually better split before editing.
