What it does not do
- This is a simple electronic signature: an image of your signature placed onto the page.
- It is not a certificate-based digital signature, and it does not carry a cryptographic signing certificate, a timestamp authority, or an identity check on the signer.
- It does not run a multi-party signing workflow. Everyone signs the same file in turn rather than through tracked invitations.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a legally binding signature?
- It produces a simple electronic signature. Many jurisdictions accept these for everyday agreements, but the rules depend on where you are and what you are signing. Leo does not attach a signing certificate or verify who you are, so for regulated or high-value documents take advice and use a qualified provider.
- What is the difference between this and a digital signature?
- A digital signature embeds a cryptographic certificate that proves the document has not changed since signing. This tool places a visual signature onto the page. It does not embed a certificate.
- Can I send it to other people to sign?
- Not yet. This tool signs a document you already have. Multi-party signing with tracked invitations is not part of it.
- Do I need an account?
- Not to sign. You need a free account to download the signed file and to keep it.
- Is my signature stored?
- The signature is drawn in your browser and applied there. Leo receives the finished signed PDF only when you choose to download or save it.
